My focus is on the housing and removal of poultry for our German slaughterhouses. We're talking about the heart of Plukon here, because without animals, there are no poultry products. It goes without saying that my desk is always busy. My job requires a great deal of sensitivity to the needs of the farmers, the welfare of the animals, and the requirements of our own company. Animals are living beings that must always be treated with care. Strict animal welfare standards apply from start to finish. So, I have to coordinate a multitude of different requirements. And that's precisely what makes the job so exciting.
Why does Johann work at Plukon?
I come from a farming family myself. Therefore, I understand the interests and requirements of the partners and try to meet them.
It's a pleasure to work in a cool, young team in an industry with a future. After all, poultry is a very popular food.
I appreciate the activities I do with the team. It's great to go for a beer together after work or to train together for a city run.

Every day I face a multitude of tasks. We need animals, but never too many and never too few. To achieve this, you have to understand what's feasible and what isn't. You have to know the processes and be able to empathize with the agricultural side of things. That's how you arrive at solutions that ultimately satisfy the interests of all partners. But you don't necessarily have to come from an agricultural background. At Plukon, you can learn everything.
Poultry supply is systemically important
The feeling of being needed is simply wonderful. I have a very strong feeling about that at Plukon. The work my colleagues and I do makes a vital contribution to supplying consumers with high-quality poultry products. We produce food and thus make an important contribution to our society.
